HC Deb 23 July 1935 vol 304 cc1648-9
24. Mr. THORNE

asked the President of the Board of Education whether he has received a report from the school inspectors about children attending Oxfordshire schools which are suffering from a shortage of water; whether he is aware that the children have to take water to schools in medicine bottles; and whether he intends taking any action in the matter?

The MINISTER of EDUCATION (Mr. Oliver Stanley)

No such case has come to the knowledge of His Majesty's inspectors. But if the hon. Member has any information on the subject, I should be glad to make further inquiries.

Viscountess ASTOR

Will my right hon. Friend let us know how many schools there are throughout England and Scotland where there is no running water at all?

Mr. STANLEY

If the Noble Lady will put a question on the Paper, I will give what information is available.
