HC Deb 18 July 1935 vol 304 cc1198-9
16. Mr. PALING

asked the Home Secretary whether he can supply a return showing the numbers and names of tracks which have received licences for betting facilities under the Betting and Lotteries Act, 1934, distinguishing betwen existing tracks and new tracks?

I regret that I am not in a position to supply a return on the lines suggested by the hon. Member, but I have been in communication with licensing authorities under Part I of the Betting and Lotteries Act, 1934 and am informed that in England and Wales 174 licences have been granted up to the 30th June, 1935, of which 22 licences were granted under Section 6 and 152 licences in respect of existing tracks under Section 8 of the Act.
