HC Deb 18 July 1935 vol 304 cc1224-5
61. Mr. THORNE

asked the Postmaster-General whether he can give the House any information in connection with the robbery that took place at the Wood Lane post office, Shepherd's Bush, on the 15th July?

The ASSISTANT POSTMASTER-GENERAL (Sir Ernest Bennett)

The sub-postmistress of Wood Lane, Shepherd's Bush, reported that a robbery had been committed on the morning of the 15th of July by two unknown men. The estimated loss is about £39. Enquiries are being pursued.

Mr. THORNE

May I ask whether there is any truth in the statement that this robbery took place while the police were rehearsing in Hyde Park?

Sir E. BENNETT

I am not aware that that was the case.
