HC Deb 18 July 1935 vol 304 cc1199-200
19. Mr. MALLALIEU

asked the Home Secretary whether any contracts have yet been entered into by his Department for the manufacture or supply of gas-masks or other equipment for air-raid drill or defences; and, if so, with what firms?

Sir J. SIMON

The respirators which the Home Office has at present arranged to obtain for civilian purposes will be supplied by the War Office. No orders have yet been placed for any other equipment for air raid precautions services.

Mr. MANDER

Are smaller sized gas masks being provided for children? Are they not to be protected?

Mr. LANSBURY

Will the Home Secretary arrange for the circular issued last week regarding air raid precautions to be made available to hon. Members?

Sir I. SIMON

Yes, Sir. I have arranged for copies of the circular to be available to hon. Members in the Vote Office.
