HC Deb 17 July 1935 vol 304 cc1037-8
32. Sir GEORGE JONES

asked the Minister of Transport whether he will consider the question of introducing legislation to provide that if an insurance company or other insurer issues a policy against third-party risks such insurance company or other insurer shall be absolutely precluded from denying liability under the policy, as regards the injured person, to pay compensation for injuries caused by the negligence of the assured?

Mr. HORE-BELISHA

May I refer my hon. Friend to an answer which I gave on this subject on 4th June to the hon. Member for Warrington (Mr. Goldie), of which I am sending him a copy.

Mr. GUY

Is the right hon. Gentleman aware that third-party claims are already safeguarded in this connection in the Irish Free State?
