HC Deb 15 July 1935 vol 304 cc750-1
44. Captain ARTHUR EVANS

asked the Prime Minister whether he will appoint a small Royal Commission, say of three persons, with wide terms of reference, to investigate all aspects of the difficult and complex problem of coloured peoples domiciled in Great Britain, especially in the dock areas?

The PRIME MINISTER

I would refer my hon. and gallant Friend to the answer given on this subject on Thursday last by my right hon. Friend the Minister of Health. I have received a copy of the report referred to in his previous question, and will see that it is considered by the Departments concerned. Until that has been done, I do not think it is possible to say whether a further inquiry on this subject is necessary.
