HC Deb 11 July 1935 vol 304 cc474-5
15. Mr. G. GRIFFITHS

asked the President of the Board of Education whether he is now in a position to give the House any information regarding the Department's inquiry into the school-leaving age?

The PRESIDENT of the BOARD of EDUCATION (Mr. Oliver Stanley)

I would refer the hon. Member to the answer I gave to the right hon. Member for Cornwall, North (Sir F. Acland) on Tuesday last.

Mr. GRIFFITHS

Was not that answer "Wait and see"?

Mr. STANLEY

Not precisely in those terms.

Viscountess ASTOR

Will my right hon. Friend consult the Noble Lord the right hon. Member for Hastings (Lord E. Percy), as he knows what should be done? Now that we have such a prominent and expensive Member in the Cabinet, we want our money's worth.
