HC Deb 10 July 1935 vol 304 cc324-5
47. Mr. DINGLE FOOT

asked the Prime Minister whether, before the end of the present Parliament, the Government will give the House of Commons an opportunity of discussing the report of the Committee on Ministers' Powers?

The PRIME MINISTER

In view of the congested state of public business, I can hold out no hope of an opportunity being afforded for a discussion of this matter. As the hon. Member has been informed on a previous occasion, the views expressed in the report are being borne in mind in relation to current legislation as occasion arises.

Mr. FOOT

In view of the unsatisfactory nature of the reply and the fact that the recommendations of that report have been consistently ignored for three years, I beg to give notice that I shall raise this matter on the Adjournment at the first available opportunity.
