HC Deb 08 July 1935 vol 304 c16
27. Mr. CHARLES TAYLOR

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland the details of the price paid for liquid milk by the Milk Marketing Board when this milk is used for the manufacture of cheese; and whether the price paid by the Milk Marketing Board's factories is lower than the price paid by factories privately owned?

The SECRETARY of STATE for SCOTLAND (Sir Godfrey Collins)

The board make monthly payments to the producers at an average price per gallon irrespective of whether their milk is used for liquid consumption or for manufacture. The price debited to the board's own factories in respect of milk for the manufacture of cheese is the same as that charged to private manufacturers.
