§ The PARLIAMENTARY SECRETARY to the MINISTRY of TRANSPORT (Captain Austin Hudson)Between the hours of 8 p.m. and 6 a.m. traffic is permitted to proceed in both directions over the temporary bridge, and during the remaining hours of the day, when general traffic is allowed to proceed only from north to south, there is an omnibus service from south to north. These arrangements, which are made under requirements of the Commissioner of Police of the Metropolis, are, I understand, likely to be regarded as necessary until the new Waterloo Bridge is opened to 1518 traffic, but the position will be reviewed from time to time.
§ Lieut.-Colonel POWELLCan the hon. and gallant Gentleman tell me for how long this unsatisfactory state of affairs is going to exist?
