§ 29. Mr. REMERasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department whether his attention has been called to the treatment meted out to their clients by the Burnley Building Society; what action the Registrar of Friendly Societies proposes to take in the numerous cases to which his attention has been called; and, if the registrar has no adequate powers to deal with these cases whether he will introduce legislation to protect the interests of borrowers under building society schemes?
