asked the Home Secretary whether he is now in a position to give the names of the persons who will constitute the committee of inquiry into the subject of coroners' inquests and also the terms of reference?

Yes, Sir. The Right Honourable Lord Wright has consented to act as chairman of the committee and the remaining members are:

  • Sir Archibald Bodkin, K.C.B.,
  • Sir E. Farquhar Buzzard, Bt., K.C.V.O.,
  • Mr. Digby Cotes-Preedy, K.C.,
  • Sir Arthur Hazlerigg, Bt.,
  • Mr. George A. Isaacs,
  • Mr. W. Rutley Mowll, and
  • Mrs. Margaret Wintringham.

The terms of reference of the committee are: to inquire into the law and practice relating to Coroners, and to report what changes, if any, are desirable and practicable.
