HC Deb 21 February 1935 vol 298 cc506-7
28. Mr. LESLIE BOYCE

asked the Minister of Health whether the Government will consider giving some suitable form of recognition of the voluntary and arduous public services that were rendered by members of local public assistance committees?

Sir H. YOUNG

The Government are glad to place on record in this House an expression of the highest appreciation of the work of those public assistance authorities who have, at the request of the Government, given over a period of more than three years voluntary assistance in the arduous task of properly administering the scheme of transitional payments.
