HC Deb 19 February 1935 vol 298 cc157-8
14. Mr. TINKER

asked the Secretary for Mines how many colliery companies have agreed with their employés to share the working time so as not to throw out of employment a number of them; and is he in a position to say how many would be out of work if no such arrangement was in operation?

The SECRETARY for MINES (Mr. Ernest Brown)

I would refer the hon. Member to the answer given to him yesterday by my right hon. Friend the Minister of Labour. The statement therein referred to will include particulars of work-sharing schemes in the coal mining industry.
