HC Deb 18 December 1935 vol 307 c1740
50. Mr. DAY

asked the Under-Secretary of State for Air whether, in view of the recent loss of civil aeroplanes when undertaking long journeys, he will consider the introduction of Regulations that will compel all aviators before taking off from any British airport or possession to declare their precise route; and will he also consider making it compulsory for all British aeroplanes travelling long distances to carry wireless equipment?

The UNDER-SECRETARY of STATE for AIR (Sir Philip Sassoon)

I sympathise with the objects the hon. Member has in view, but it would not be practicable to make Regulations on the lines he suggests.

Mr. DAY

Have not these regulations already been put into force by the permission of the Royal Air Force by the Director of Civil Aviation at Singapore?

Sir P. SASSOON

I should like to see that question on the Paper.
