asked the Postmaster-General what proportion of the Post Office surplus at 31st March was retained by the Department?


The proportion of the surplus at 31st March last due to the Post Office amounted to £1,126,817 (as shown in White Paper of 3rd December, 1935). This amount was duly paid over to the Post Office Fund by the Exchequer on 1st November last.
