HC Deb 12 December 1935 vol 307 c1088
22. Mr. LESLIE

asked the Minister of Labour, arising out of the representations made to him by the National Amalgamated Union of Shop Assistants, Warehousemen and Clerks, what steps he proposes to take to persuade the Home and Colonial Stores, Limited, the Meadow Dairy Company, Limited, and Pearks Dairies, Limited, to fall into line with the established practice throughout trade and commerce, namely, the practice of regulating wages by collective agreements between the trade unions and the employers?

Mr. E. BROWN

Officers of my Department have been in touch with the companies and the union, and, as a result, arrangements have been made whereby a joint meeting between the parties will be held in the New Year.
