HC Deb 12 December 1935 vol 307 c1108
75. Mr. HOLLAND

asked the Financial Secretary to the Treasury what means exist for ensuring that the dispute between the association concerned and the Treasury in regard to the payment of dictaphone operators in the Civil Service may be referred to arbitration?

Mr. W. S. MORRISON

There is no separate grade of dictaphone operator in the Civil Service, this duty being one of those falling to the copying typist grade. A difference between the Treasury and the two associations concerned as to the pay of this grade was referred to the arbitration of the Industrial Court only last year and I am aware of no reason for reopening the matter as settled by the court's award.
