HC Deb 11 December 1935 vol 307 c909
66. Mr. CROWDER

asked the Minister of Transport in view of the fact that the London Passenger Transport Board is proposing to equip all its motor vehicles with Diesel engines, what steps are being taken by him to ensure that adequate arrangements are being made to protect the public against contamination of the atmosphere by the exhaust gases of these vehicles?

Mr. HORE-BELISHA

I am aware of no sufficient evidence to show that these exhaust gases are damaging public health.
