HC Deb 10 December 1935 vol 307 c740
60. Mr. PARKER

asked the Postmaster-General whether, in the British Broadcasting Corporation, as a public corporation, trade union rates and conditions are observed in all grades?

Major TRYON

The rates of pay of the staff employed by the British Broadcasting Corporation are, under Clause 7 of its Charter, a matter for the Corporation to determine. I understand, however, that the Corporation pays rates of wages and observes conditions of labour not less favourable than those recognised by trade unions for the grades concerned.
