§ 74. Mr. MATHERSasked the Minister of Transport whether he is in a position 560 to make a statement regarding the proposed Forth road bridge and, in particular, whether he can say what measure of agreement has been reached with the local authorities involved?
§ Mr. HORE-BELISHAI would refer the hon. Member to the answer I gave on this subject to the hon. Member for North Lanark (Mr. Anstruther-Gray) on 5th December last, of which I am sending him a copy.
§ Mr. MATHERSCan the Minister say whether the local authorities have been communicated with, and will he keep in mind the desirability of expediting a declaration on this subject in view of the effect upon unemployment?
§ Mr. HORE-BELISHAThe local authorities have communicated with my Department, and, as the hon. Gentleman is aware, the proposals are only recent and, of course, have to be examined.
