§ The Vice-Chamberlain of the Household (Lieut.-Colonel Sir A. Lambert Ward) reported His Majesty's Answer to the Address, as followeth:
§ I return you My sincere thanks for your loyal and dutiful Address expressing sympathy with Me in the great loss which I have sustained by the death of my beloved Sister, the Princess Victoria.
§ It is a source of consolation and comfort to Me in My sorrow to receive this further assurance of your constant and affectionate interest in all that concerns Me and My family.
