asked the Minister of Agriculture the number of farmers that have refused to sign contracts with the Pigs Board for 1936, and the reason why the farmers have refused to contract; whether additional imports have been allowed into this country; and, if so, what was the total amount above the normal quota?

As to the first part of the hon. Member's question, I do not think it would be in any way possible to ascertain the information required. As regards the second and third parts, imports of bacon and hams into the United Kingdom from all sources during the 10 months January to October, 1935, did not exceed the quantity allowed for in the programme of supplies in the current year.
