asked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Board of Education whether he can announce the probable date of the appointment of commissioners to form a new constitution for Durham University?

The Government have decided to introduce early legislation to set up commissioners to prepare Statutes in general accordance with the Commission's recommendations.

Can the hon. Gentleman say whether "early legislation" means this summer or before the end of the Session?

My Noble Friend hopes to introduce the Bill in another place before Whitsuntide.
