HC Deb 29 April 1935 vol 301 c15
21. Mr. TINKER

asked the Minister of Labour whether he has any further information to give the House regarding his discussions with employers of labour on the question of a reduction of working hours?

The PARLIAMENTARY SECRETARY to the MINISTRY of LABOUR (Mr. R. S. Hudson)

My right hon. Friend is meeting the wool (textile) trade at the beginning of May, and invitations have been issued to a number of other trades suggesting an early discussion with them.

Mr. TINKER

When these meetings take place, will the right hon. Gentleman draw the attention of the employers to the question of overtime and Sunday work and try to cut them out?

Mr. HUDSON

The question of overtime is one of the numerous subjects that are under discussion with the various organisations concerned.
