HC Deb 17 April 1935 vol 300 cc1847-8
55. Mr. K. LINDSAY

asked the Minister of Labour what are the total numbers of unemployed persons over the age of 55 in the areas designated as special?

Mr. STANLEY

The current statistics are not compiled on a basis which would enable me to give the desired information, but some particulars as to the ages of the unemployed in these areas in April, May and June, 1934, were given on pages 59, 118, 147 and 217 of the Report (Cmd. 4728) of Investigations into the Industrial Conditions in certain Depressed Areas.
