HC Deb 17 April 1935 vol 300 cc1854-5
Mr. LANSBURY

May I ask the business proposed for the House when we reassemble?

The PRIME MINISTER

On Monday, 29th April, and Tuesday, 30th April: Government of India Bill, Committee stage.

Wednesday, 1st May: Report stage of the Budget Resolutions.

Thursday, 2nd May: Supply (4th Allotted Day), Committee: Debate on Foreign Affairs. This day is being given for Supply in accordance with the Government's promise to provide an early opportunity for a discussion on Foreign Affairs.

Friday, 3rd May: Government of India Bill, Committee stage.

On any day, if there is time, other Orders may be taken.

It may be for the convenience of Members if I inform the House that it is not proposed to sit on Monday, 6th May, which is the 25th anniversary of His Majesty's Accession to the Throne. The House will meet on the other days during that week.

Mr. LANSBURY

May I say, in regard to the Debate on Foreign Affairs, that we had intended to ask you, Mr. Speaker, to allow us some time to-morrow in order to initiate such a Debate, but in all the circumstances, and in view of the fact that much of the subject matter of the statement which the Prime Minister has just read is still under discussion, we propose to await the day which has been provided in the week after next; and with your permission, Mr. Speaker, we shall hope to-morrow to call attention to the national water supply.
