§ 35. Mr. CAPORNasked the Minister of Health whether any land now under cultivation in the city of Nottingham as allotments and allotment gardens has been reserved by the local authority for building or industrial purposes under any proposed scheme under the Town and County Planning Act; and, if so, how much of such land has been so reserved and how much will be reserved for allotments under the proposed scheme?
§ Mr. SHAKESPEAREThe reply to the first part of the question is in the affirmative. As regards the second part, the scheme now under consideration, which deals with rather more than half the area of the city, proposes to make a substantial reservation for allotment purposes. The exact amount and location of the land to be reserved is still to be decided.
§ Sir FRANCIS FREMANTLEMay I ask whether this matter will be kept in view when sanctioning all town planning schemes?
§ Mr. SHAKESPEAREThat point is dealt with in reply to another question.
§ 36. Mr. CAPORNasked the Minister of Health whether he satisfies himself that reasonable provision has been made in every town-planning scheme for allotment gardens and other recreational needs before finally approving the draft scheme under the provisions of the Town and Country Planning Act?
§ Mr. SHAKESPEAREYes, Sir.
