HC Deb 10 April 1935 vol 300 c1125
1. Mr. MANDER

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether he has any statement to make with reference to the position of Japan concerning her rights and obligations now that she has left the League; and whether, so far as these are unfulfilled, they still continue?

The LORD PRESIDENT of the COUNCIL (Mr. Baldwin)

The question of Japan's rights and obligations in connection with the League of Nations is one for consideration by the League. Her rights and obligations in other respects are, naturally, not affected by her withdrawal.

Mr. MANDER

Has the Lord President seen the statement on this subject by M. Avenol, the Secretary-General, which appeared in the Press recently?

Mr. BALDWIN

No, I am afraid I have not.
