Separate statistics in respect of British-born seamen are not available.
Mr. WESTIs the right hon. Gentleman aware that there are nearly 50,000 foreign and coloured seamen employed on British ships, and has his Department any plans for putting British sailors into those foreign seamen's jobs?
Captain ARTHUR EVANSCan the right hon. Gentleman say whether the figures quoted include British coloured seamen who are domiciled in Great Britain?
