HC Deb 31 October 1934 vol 293 c187
20. Mr. G. HALL (for Mr. DAVID GRENFELL)

asked the Financial Secretary to the War Office whether, in view of the subsidy given to the livestock industry, it is now proposed to feed the home forces on British beef?

Mr. HACKING

Practically the whole of the frozen beef supplied to the Army and Air Force at home is of Dominion origin. If the hon. Member is referring to home-killed beef, I regret that its cost is still prohibitive as far as Army funds are concerned.
