HC Deb 27 November 1934 vol 295 c677
62. Sir A. WILSON

asked the Home Secretary whether he will consider the possibility of obtaining and publishing, in connection with annual licensing statistics, details of the age groups of persons convicted of drunkenness?

Sir J. GILMOUR

I do not think that the value of these additional details would be commensurate with the labour and expense involved in collecting them.

Viscountess ASTOR

Does not the right hon. Gentleman think that, now that drunkenness has increased by 20 per cent. all over the country, something ought to be done in the matter? [HON. MEMBERS: "Oh!"] It is true.
