§ 23. Mr. LEWISasked the First Commissioner of Works whether arrangements can be made for Members of both Houses and their friends using the Parliamentary stand on the occasion of the Royal wedding to reach their seats from Westminster station?
§ Mr. ORMSBY-GOREI have consulted with the Commissioners of Police, who will endeavour to keep a passage from New Palace Yard to the Parliamentary stand up till 10 a.m. Members should reach New Palace Yard by way of the subway under Bridge Street, or the gate adjacent to the clock tower. Westminster station will be open.
§ Mr. ORMSBY-GOREI must have notice of that question.
§ Captain P. MACDONALDWill this apply to people approaching the stand 489 from other directions—say from St. James's Park?
§ Mr. ORMSBY-GORENo; it depends on the direction. People who approach from St. James's Park or from the South will have to be there by 9.30, because of the procession and other traffic approaching the Abbey itself at a later hour than that. If they can come by New Palace Yard in the way I have indicated, they will have an extra half-hour.
