HC Deb 26 November 1934 vol 295 c485
42. Mr. DENVILLE

asked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Board of Education if his attention has been drawn to the fact that the Denbighshire Education Committee has decided, in spite of a communication on the matter by the Board of Education, to adhere to their previous decision not to provide medical inspection for pupils attending the Colwyn Bay Catholic School; and what action does he propose to take?

Mr. RAMSBOTHAM

The reply to the first part of the question is, I regret to say, in the affirmative. The board have already urged upon the authority the desirability of giving this matter further consideration. My Noble Friend does not think that at the moment anything would be gained by repeating what has already been said to the authority.

Mr. DENVILLE

Will the hon. Gentleman take steps to put an end at once to the intolerable bigotry against Catholicism in North Wales?

Mr RAMSBOTHAM

I deplore the present situation, but I hope that good sense and good will will prevail.
