§ On the 1st April, 1933, which is the latest date for which the figures required are available, the numbers of whole-time non-industrial adult civil servants receiving the rates of pay mentioned were as follow:

§ As from 1st July, 1934, one-half of the emergency reductions in the salaries of civil servants imposed in the autumn of 1931 have been restored, and consolidation of Civil Service remuneration has been effected, subject to temporary abatements. The effect of these measures has been to alter the numbers falling within the various categories mentioned.
