Major-General Sir ALFRED KNOXasked the Secretary of State for India whether he will suggest to the Viceroy the desirability of summoning the Chamber of Princes as soon as possible after the 21st November to enable the members to discuss the conclusions of the report of the Joint Select Committee?
§ Mr. BUTLERI understand that the Viceroy has already been in correspondence with His Highness the Chancellor of the Chamber of Princes as to a convenient date for a meeting of the Chamber after the publication of the 1498 report of the Joint Select Committee, and that the Chancellor was to consult his colleagues of the Standing Committee of the Chamber. I have not heard the result of the consultation, but I have no doubt that the Viceroy has in mind the points raised in my hon. and gallant Friend's question.
