asked the Minister of Transport whether any progress has been made in defining tests to be passed by motor-vehicle drivers; and what bodies are to be responsible for the carrying out of such tests?

I have circulated to a large number of representative organisations a draft of regulations proposed to be made under Section 6 (5) of the Road Traffic Act, 1934, and I have received as a result many helpful suggestions, which I am now considering. I also have under consideration the machinery for carrying out the tests.
