§ 9. Sir PERCY HURDasked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether he is aware that the Spanish customs authorities in Morocco are making a charge upon the personal luggage of British passengers in transit through the Spanish zone from the interior to the 1011 international port of Tangier; and whether he will state under what authority such a customs charge is made?
§ Sir J. SIMONNo, Sir; I have received no information on this subject. If my hon. Friend will furnish me with particulars, I will cause enquiries to be made.
§ Sir P. HURDDoes the right hon. Gentleman know whether there is any authority for such a customs charge?
§ Sir J. SIMONI think, if it be convenient to my hon. Friend, it would be better that I should have the information. A great deal depends, of course, on the kind of charge it is. One must see the details before one can answer with authority.
