§ 16. Captain CRAWFORD BROWNEasked the First Lord of the Admiralty the total value of work allocated to Belfast under the naval programmes of 1932–33, 1933–34, and 1934–35?
Sir B. EYRES MONSELLThe only shipbuilding contract allocated to Belfast under the naval programmes of 1932, 1933 and 1934, is for the hull and machinery of the cruiser Penelope of the 1933 programme. As it is contrary to practice to divulge contract prices of particular ships, I regret that the value of the order cannot be furnished.
