§ Mr. RUNCIMANThe recommendations of the Import Duties Advisory Committee to which my hon. Friend refers, affected primarily imports of electric lamps from Japan. I am sending my hon. Friend a copy of an announcement issued to the Press on August 28th last which sets out the conditions on which His Majesty's Government decided not to give effect to the recommendations.
