HC Deb 29 May 1934 vol 290 c20
34. Mr. ANSTRUTHER-GRAY

asked the Minister of Transport if he will state the number of pedestrian crossing-places now in experimental use in the Metropolitan area?

The PARLIAMENTARY SECRETARY to the MINISTRY of TRANSPORT (Lieut.-Colonel Headlam)

As was intimated in the reply to my hon. Friend the Member for Henley (Sir G. Fox) on 17th May, it is hoped that by the middle of June a considerable number of pedestrian crossing-places will be in operation in London.

Captain Sir WILLIAM BRASS

How many of these crossings will be established by the middle of June?

Lieut.-Colonel HEADLAM

I cannot give an answer to that question yet.
