HC Deb 29 May 1934 vol 290 cc21-2
38. Mr. MITCHESON

asked the Secretary of Stae for Foreign Affairs if he has any statement to make on the Disarmament Conference?

41. Mr. D. GRENFELL

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs the present position on the question of disarmament?

The PRIME MINISTER (Mr. Ramsay MacDonald)

Perhaps in the absence of my right hon. Friend the House will allow me to answer these questions. The General Commission of the Disarmament Conference is meeting to-day for the first time after an adjournment of some seven and a half months. I regret that I am unable, as yet, to make any statement on the subject beyond what has been made up to the time of the last rising of the House.

Mr. MANDER

Do the British Government propose to make any statement of policy or to take any initiative there?

The PRIME MINISTER

That is covered by what I have said.
