HC Deb 17 May 1934 vol 289 c1941
63. Sir SAMUEL CHAPMAN

asked the First Commissioner of Works if he can now make any further statement with reference to the proposed building for the National Library of Scotland?

The FIRST COMMISSIONER OF WORKS (Mr. Ormsby-Gore)

After consideration of the recommendation of the Selection Committee appointed for the purpose, I have invited Mr. Reginald Fairlie to act as architect for the building, and I am glad to be able to say that Mr. Fairlie has intimated his acceptance.

Mr. GUY

May I ask whether the architect appointed will have under his consideration the question of the provision of temporary stackage pending the demolition of the existing sheriff court?

Mr. ORMSBY-GORE

I do not think so.
