Brigadier-General NATIONasked the Minister of Labour whether, in view of the recent inspection of the Beverley training hostel for boys by officials from the Ministries of Labour and Agriculture, he is now in a position to make a statement regarding the proposals submitted to him by the Young Men's Christian Association; and will he be able to continue to give his support to this scheme for training boys?
§ Sir H. BETTERTONI have informed the association that I am prepared to continue the existing agreement at the present rate of grant for a limited period. I cannot hold out any hope that it will be possible to increase the rate of grant.
