§ 17. Sir CHARLES CAYZERasked the Under-Secretary of State for Air whether the attention of the Air Ministry has been called to the new single-seater interceptor fighter, armed with a repeating gun firing an explosive shell, which has been produced in France; and whether, in view of the potential value of such a machine against bombing attacks, it is the intention of the Air Ministry at once to equip certain squadrons of the Royal Air Force with similar machines?
§ Sir P. SASSOONThe answer to the first part of the question is in the affirmative. As regards the second part, my hon. Friend will appreciate that it would not be in the public interest to disclose details of the Air Ministry's policy in regard to the armament of the Royal Air Force, but I can assure him that the development of the gun in question is being carefully watched.
