§ Mr. THORPIn view of the Amendment which has been carried in regard to the powers of local authorities to break up private streets, this Amendment is not necessary, and I do not propose to move it.

§ Mr. MOREINGI beg to move, in page 2, line 24, to leave out from "by," to the first "or," in line 27, and insert :
any railway company, harbour authority, navigation authority, or conservancy authority.This is a purely drafting Amendment in order to bring Clause 2 into conformity with Clause 10 and subsequent Clauses, and to enable advantage to be taken of the definition Clause.

665§ Mr. MOREINGI beg to move, in page 2, line 27, to leave out from "undertakers," to "but," in line 29, and to insert
except with, the consent in writing of such company, authority, or undertakers, and subject to such terms and conditions as they may reasonably impose.This again is of a drafting nature with the object of bringing the words of Sub-section (2) into conformity with the words of Sub-section (3) under which the London County Council is given power to propose certain terms and conditions when they are giving consent. The Amendment will enable railway companies and dock, harbour and canal authorities to have the same right when they have to give consent under the Clause.
