HC Deb 01 May 1934 vol 289 cc122-3
2. Mr. T. SMITH

asked the Secretary for Mines what progress is being made by the departmental committee appointed to inquire into precautions against overwinding; and whether a report in the near future is contemplated?

Mr. E. BROWN

The committee have almost completed the hearing of oral evidence on the subject remitted to them. Their recent meetings have been devoted to examination at the collieries of various types of apparatus in operation. I understand that they hope to hear the final witnesses during June and to prepare their report soon afterwards.
