HC Deb 01 May 1934 vol 289 c141
45. Mr. MANDER

asked the Prime Minister if he has any statement to make with reference to recent changes made or contemplated in the staff of the Economic Advisory Committee?

The PRIME MINISTER (Mr. Ramsay MacDonald)

Mr. H. D. Henderson has resigned as from yesterday his position as one of the joint secretaries of the council on his election as a Fellow of All Souls College, Oxford. His colleague, Mr. Francis Hemming, now becomes sole secretary of the council, and Mr. P. K. Debenham and Mr. D. H. F. Rickett, at present assistants on the staff of the council, have been promoted to be assistant secretaries to the council.

Mr. HANNON

In view of the monopoly of economic knowledge possessed by the hon. Member for East Wolverhampton (Mr. Mander) should he not be added to the council?
