asked the Secretary of State for Scotland how many new schools have been built in Scotland during the last two years; how many are in course of construction; and in how many schools have extensions or structural alterations taken place?

Mr. SKELTON

The number of new schools built in Scotland during the two years preceding 31st December, 1933, was 46; the number at present under construction is 35. Extensions and alterations have taken place during the last two years at 215 schools.
