HC Deb 22 March 1934 vol 287 c1365
7. Mr. HUTCHISON

asked the Home Secretary whether his attention has been called to the danger to householders through burglary in new housing estates on the fringe of London but in the Metropolitan Police district; and whether he is satisfied that the Metropolitan Police arrangements are adequate to protect these new suburbs?

Sir J. GILMOUR

The Commissioner of Police informs me that crime does not appear to be greater in these estates than in the older parts of London. The whole position is constantly under review, and the recent reorganisation of the force should result in increased protection for the outer areas.
